What We Believe
We believe there is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; equal in essence, while distinct in personality and function. Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6
We believe that God created the heaven and the earth according to the Genesis account, and that it was created in six literal 24 hour days. Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3 We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and that He is in truth God incarnate. John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Galatians 4:4 We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as the substitutionary sacrifice for all mankind and that His blood alone is the atonement that saves from sin. Isaiah 53:4-11; II Cor. 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; I John 2:1-2; I Timothy 4:10 We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, that He ascended back into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, and that He serves as our only Mediator, High Priest, and Advocate. Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:8-11; I Cor. 15:4-9; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16; I John 2:1 We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that man sinned, thereby incurring not only physical but spiritual death which was passed upon all men. Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-6; Romans 5:12, 19 We believe that all who repent and receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born into the family of God. Luke 24:46-47; John 1:12-13; 3:3-16; Acts 16:31; 20:21; Ephesians 2:8-9 We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent of the new birth, that through conviction and regeneration He indwells, seals, and baptizes every believer into the body of Christ at the moment of conversion. John 16:7-11; Romans 8:1; Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 12:13 We believe that the true believer has everlasting life, that he is kept forever by the power of God, and that a new creation is incurred by the new birth, giving evidence that he is a child of God. John 6:39; 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39; II Corinthians 5:17 We believe in “the blessed hope”— which is the personal, pre-millennial, pre-tribulational and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13; John 14:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-58; James 5:9 We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust, that the saved will be raised to everlasting life, and the lost raised to everlasting punishment. I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1-8 We believe there are two ordinances of the New Testament Church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is to be by immersion and is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper is partaken of by baptized believers, who have acted in obedience to Christ’s command, to show forth His death “till He come.” Matthew 28:18-20; John 3:23; Acts 2:41; 8:36-39; I Corinthians 11:26 We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and therefore inerrant. We further believe that God has preserved His Word by means of the Massoretic Text for the Old Testament, and the Byzantine manuscripts supporting the Textus Receptus for the New Testament. Therefore we accept and use only the King James Version of the Bible as it is the preserved Word of God for us today. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21 |
